The Belize Barrier Reef boasts over 100 types of coral and nearly 500 species of tropical fish over its 190 miles, making it Belize's top tourist destination and vital to the country's fishing industry. Through conversations with local experts, hands-on activities, and educational tours, students will learn about the marine ecosystem conservation, as well as the country’s diverse cultural heritage, unique geography, and complicated history.

Itinerary 

Day 1

Arrival to car-free island community of Caye Caulker, on-site orientation. Welcome dinner.

Day 2

Environmental tour of island with local students.

Day 3

Manatee observation and snorkel tour in marine sanctuary.

Day 4

Educational snorkeling tour on world-famous Belize Barrier Reef.

Day 5

Free time. Nighttime tour of crocodile habitat.

Day 6

Snorkel a coral nursery and a reef restoration site with local conservationist. 

Day 7

Guided visits to Belize Zoo and Mayan ruins. Farewell dinner. 

Day 8

Departure
