Our community-based programs provide an important additional source of income to people and partner organizations in rural or marginalized communities. We also support long-term relationships between faculty and host communities. These kinds of partnerships help us create culturally immersive, unique and authentic educational experiences.

Our goal is to harness the power of international cultural immersion to lead students to life-changing epiphanies. We encourage our clients to explore community-based options because rural communities offer more profound immersion and more authentic interaction. Our economic impact is also greater in rural places.

We price our programs to be affordable for students of all economic backgrounds. We work within a given budget to realize the faculty-leader’s vision.
We are sustainable and responsible
We teach students to leave no trace, and to be respectful and humble learners. We design our service learning projects to learn, not to “help”, because we realize that actually helping takes more than what we can offer in a short visit with a group of college students. Our community work is always directed by local leaders and partner institutions. We are carbon neutral, offsetting our 36 tonnes of CO2 with the Carbon Fund.

Our operations are laser-focused on providing the highest quality service specifically for faculty-led programs, both virtual and travel-based. We work primarily in Latin America and the Caribbean because of this region’s proximity, affordability, and breadth of opportunities for learning. We also work in Europe and North America, specializing in off the beaten path and community-based programs.
