This 11-day Netherlands and Iceland program immerses students in a blend of academic and cultural experiences, spanning vibrant cities and picturesque towns. Activities include visits to HAN University, the Dutch Olympic Committee, and the Royal Dutch Soccer Association. Students will enjoy cycling excursions and soak in Iceland’s Blue Lagoon. Through expert-led sessions, hands-on activities, and cultural tours, students will learn about sports innovation, historical events, and the dynamics of European sports organizations, while engaging in unique cultural and natural experiences.
Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival to Nijmegen and orientation. Tour of Nijmegen by Night. Welcome dinner.
Day 2
Visit to a Tulip field. Free time to explore.
Day 3
Peer to peer exchange at a local university. Lecture on Sport Science.
Day 4
Business visit to the Dutch Olympic Committee & Sports Federation. Lecture on Cycling in the Netherlands. Free time.
Day 5
Business visit to agencies and facilities dedicated to sports technology. Visit to a Dutch professional football club.
Day 6
Visit to a governmental organization responsible for overseeing and promoting football. Visit to the European Soccer Structure.
Day 7
Visit to Papendal Olympic Training center. Visit to the World War II Freedom Museum. Free time to explore Amsterdam.
Day 8
Free time to explore.
Day 9
Visit to the Blue Lagoon.
Day 10
Visit to the Icelandic Olympic Committee. Peer-to-peer exchange at a local university. Free time to explore Reykjavik.
