This 15-day program in Scotland offers students a deep dive into the country's textile industry and renewable energy sources. From Edinburgh's historic landmarks and Scottish textile showcases to visits at renewable energy centers, students engage in expert-led discussions and hands-on learning. They'll explore cultural heritage, sustainability efforts, and the intersection of industry and environmental stewardship across various Scottish regions.

Day 1

Arrival to Edinburgh. Walking tour of Edinburgh. Orientation and welcome dinner.

Day 2

Lecture on sustainability at local university. Site visit with nonprofit organization

Day 3

Scottish Textile Show Case. Tour of Parliament. Question and answer session with member of parliament.

Day 4

Visit to an energy center. Work time. Underground Ghost Tour.

Day 5

Guided boat tour at Falkirk Wheel. Visit to Kelpies horse. Visit to Stirling Castle.

Day 6

Visit to Pitlochry Dam. Scenic drive to Glencoe.

Day 7

Visit to Eilean Donan Castle. Tour of a small-town distillery.

Day 8

Walk on Luskentyre beach. Site visit with a Tweed Weaver. Walk to sustainable business visit in Tarbert.

Day 9

Site visit with a multigenerational Harris Tweed Weaving company. Picnic at Callanish Stones. Visit to a wind farm.

Day 10

Exploration of Inverness. Quick visit to Loch Ness. Visit to Culloden Battlefield.

Day 11

Site visit to a luxury cashmere and merino wool processing plant.

Day 12

Audio tour of Balmoral Castle.

Day 13

Walk through of the “home of golf”. Work time.

Day 14

Visit to photovotaic solar installation and prototyping facility. Final presentations. Farewell dinner.
