This 15-day Spain program introduces students to mass media communication through visits to leading media companies, interactions with industry professionals, and guest lectures from local universities. The itinerary includes exploring major media outlets in Madrid and Barcelona, attending Flamenco shows, and visiting historical sites like the Sagrada Familia and Montserrat Monastery. They will engage in cultural activities and have free time to discover two of Europe’s most vibrant cities.

Day 1

Arrival to Madrid. Walking tour. Flamenco show and welcome dinner.

Day 2

Free time to explore Madrid.

Day 3

Media visit to the largest communications group in Spain. Visit in the newsroom of an English language newspapers. Guest lecture on social anthropology.

Day 4

Guest lecture on international information and communication. Digital media visit.

Day 5

Media visit to one of the most read newspapers in Spain. Stroll in Retiro Park. Visit Prado Museum.

Day 6

Guest lecture at local university. Discussion with an award-winning international journalist. Tour of Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

Day 7

Media visit to a public news channel. Visit with a New York Times foreign correspondant.

Day 8

Walk on Barcelone’s La Rambla. Free time.

Day 9

Tour of the Salvador Dali Museum. Free time

Day 10

Guest lecture on research in interactive documentaries. Media visits to one of the most important communication media in Catalonia

Day 11

Media visit. Visit to Parc Güell. Guided tour of La Sagrada Familia.
