Program Highlights

This 7-day program is designed for students to explore Paris’s present-day cultural mosaic while providing a historical background. Students will engage with community leaders from North African, Indian and Chinese communities. They will visit places of worship, dine at an Iftar, and participate in a Tai Chi class. By the end of the week students will experience Paris through the eyes of several of its most influential groups.

Day 1

Arrival to Paris. Walking tour of iconic landmarks. Orientation and welcome dinner.

Day 2

Guided tour of the African quarter. Cooking class with the local community. Iftar with guest speaker on France’s colonial past.

Day 3

Walking tour of Little India. Meeting with indian community leaders. Visit to multiple Hindu Temples. Exchange with the priests at Sri Manicka Vinayakar Alayam Temple.

Day 4

Guided tour of Musée de l’Immigration. Free time to explore.

Day 5

Immersive tour of Chinatown. Tai Chi Chuan class

Day 6

Walking tour of the Latin Quarter. Guided visit to the Great Mosque of Paris. Discussion with an immigrant activist. Free time.

Day 7

Departure.
