This 7-day Puerto Rico program immerses students in a blend of scientific exploration, community engagement, and cultural discovery. Activities include visiting the Arecibo Observatory, engaging with the Arecibo C3 Education Center, and exploring the University of Puerto Rico Arecibo Campus. Students will also visit significant natural sites such as the Cavernas de Rio Camuy and El Yunque Rainforest, and delve into Puerto Rico's colonial history in San Juan. Through expert-led tours, hands-on activities, and interactions with local communities, students will gain insights into Puerto Rico's scientific contributions, environmental diversity, and cultural richness.

Day 1

Arrival to Manatí. Orientation and welcome dinner.

Day 2

Guided tour of the Arecibo Observatory. Visit to a Center for Culturally Relevant and Inclusive Science.

Day 3

Lecture at a local university. Meeting and project visits with local nonprofit.

Day 4

Visit to Cavernas de Rio Camuy. Free time to explore San Juan.

Day 5

Guided visit and hike at El Yunque National Forest. Free time.

Day 6

Guided tour of the historic center. Free time. Salsa class and farewell dinner.

Day 7

Free morning. Departure.
