This 7-day Rio de Janeiro program immerses students in the city’s rich cultural and social dynamics, blending tourism, art, and community interaction. Activities include exploring Rio’s historical center, engaging in workshops with the Theater of the Oppressed, and experiencing local traditions through Capoeira and Samba classes. Through guided tours, hands-on workshops, and community performances, students will delve into Rio’s artistic heritage, social issues, and the impact of performance art on social justice.

Day 1

Arrival to Rio de Janeiro. Tour of Rio’s historic center. Orientation and welcome dinner.

Day 2

Time at Ipanema Beach. Visit to Sugarloaf, Botanic Garden. Sunset view at Arpoador Rock.

Day 3 - 4

Workshop with Theater of the Oppressed.

Day 5

Visit to the Nova Iguaçu neighborhood. Final performance with Theater of Oppressed. Capoeira class.

Day 6

Visit to Museu do Amanhã. Free time at Copacabana Beach. Farewell dinner.

Day 7

Departure.
