Diversity and Health in Ecuador and Miami

This virtual program is designed to introduce students to the variety of factors that influence health outcomes. Students will compare and contrast Ecuador and South Florida, learning about cultural diversity, differences between public and private healthcare, and environmental elements. Students will gain an understanding of this complex issue through conversations that include a medical director of a community health clinic, a young leader from the Miccosukee Tribe who will share his thoughts on spiritual and herbal medicine, and volunteers at a community garden located in a food desert.
